One of the appeals of Doodles is that they are believed to be hypoallergenic. Truth is, no dog breed is truly hypoallergenic. Instead what you will get is a dog that is known to shed less and produce less dander, the primary antagonist for your allergies. So doodle breeds can still cause allergies - it's simply less likely.
If you are in the north-central Kentucky area or want to schedule to be, we can make arrangements to meet and introduce you to your future puppy’s momma. While time and geography may limit the ability to meet your new puppy’s parents in-person, a great way to gauge what to expect from your puppy is to get to know the parents! You can learn more on our About and Litters pages. Luca will be playing the part of dad - and will be on loan from our friends (and the best breeders we know, Darrell and Diane Adamson) - you can find out more about him from D and D’s Dandy Doodles (https://danddsdandydoodles.com/).
Absolutely! Both of our girls have had genetic testing done and are clear of all major health concerns (i.e., there are no concerns beyond what is common to their respective breeds). In addition, we have a pretty good picture of what to expect with their puppies!
When you contact us about your journey toward puppy ownership, you can expect a few things:
It is very important that puppies are properly socialized so that they become well-adjusted adults. Beyond our own immediate family crew we have other family locally that will be dropping by to love on your pup. Of course, Journey and Willow will be a constant presence and we have a few dog neighbors that we'll consider introducing to the puppies when the time is right. Early socialization will help your puppy better adjust to new surroundings and life with you after you bring him/her home.
Vet checks and vaccinations will be recorded and available for your review. When you get on the Wait List we will keep you up-to-date on all the goings on concerning your puppy's momma (pre-natal) and then your litter (post-natal). A copy of all the health records will go home with you when you go home with your puppy.
You can expect to bring home your puppy between eight and twelve weeks of age. Puppies need ample time to mature and socialize with their mother and litter mates.
Once we've agreed that our puppy and your home are a good match we will share additional contact information and encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have. We hope to be an excellent resource for you not just during the puppy buying journey but throughout the life of your dog!
We are eager to answer any questions you have and we'll have many of our own. Our ultimate goal is to make sure our puppies are going to good homes, with people who know what to expect and have made necessary preparations. Our launching point will be the Puppy Buyer Questionnaire which we will send you... and then we'll go from there.
